Scents

I love scents so much. My dad used to hate them but I always liked fragrances. I love how a scent can transcend time and space.

A scent can instantly teleport you to a moment in your childhood, youth, and your later years.

I think that experience is exquisite and it’s what makes us human! I also think it helps ground us in reality too. With the amount we spend disconnected on devices and other daily distractions, I think we figuratively forget to smell the roses…. And those roses can be on your skin or on a card or anything that accepts perfume oil!

Whenever I feel sad, I like smelling citrus. Lemon, bergamot, grapefruit and lime are my favorite.

Whenever I’m feeling lonely, vanilla, sandalwood and musk make my pillow feel more human.

Whenever I’m feeling mysterious oud, tobacco, and woods make me feel like a detective.

Instead of MAN. WOMAN. UNISEX.

Smells should just be…. Smells! A smell is a smell is a smell! It should be a reminder or an experience or… anything really! It shouldn’t be bounded by such strict marketing silos.

These are my favorite right now. Orebella has these wonderful glass bottles that combine the concept of oil and water not traditionally mixing together…. But combine it into something transformative… a perfumed skincare product!!!!! Very interesting and ingenuous and innovative!!!

I hope this brand takes off, there’s something special here!!!

The bottles I have picture remind me of my mom, dad and me!

My sister…. I think that’s in the air but I think she’s the green bottle. She likes the outdoors and sweating and these smells might complement her activity and hobbies more than I would expect!!! We’ll see haha tbd but I’m hopeful
