I absolutely adore this take a whispery male vocal. It reminds me a lot of other vocal harmonies done by Lana Del Rey, Lorde, and Billie Eilish.

The lyricism is very straight to the point, it’s about heartache. I think It just shows that heartache is a universal experience that transcends gender boundaries. I absolutely think if this song was sung in a lower ‘typical’ male vocal range it wouldn’t hit the same. The male vocal being airy and high is important for the song’s overall delivery. I also really enjoy the aesthetic of both the music video and the cover art. It’s very Synthwave meets City Pop meets Sad Miami Party Boy.
I enjoy this remix. It has a type of glitter and tempo that the original lacks. It’s very much a night-drive sort of version.
